What We Do »
Marketplace
Equipping and supporting people in their 9-to-5 existence
All of us - not
just full-time missionaries - have a responsibility to "Know
God and make Him known" - wherever we are and whatever we do. YWAM England
is helping Christians across the country to do this through its Marketplace
ministry (go to Who We Are for more on this).
We have several ministries that are very much involved in the Marketplace:

Business As Mission Department (BAM) - Harpenden
BAM follows Jesus' mandate to disciple all nations and bring the good news,
through the realm of business. BAM has a range of expressions of ministry and
mission in the UK and overseas, including mobilising and equipping business
professionals into mission, using business as a platform for ministry into
closed and needy nations, and providing training for nationals looking to transform
their communities and nations through Christ-centred business initiatives.
BAM has developed a resource
centre to serve
those who want to use business for missions.

Centre for International Justice and Reconciliation
(CIJR) - Harpenden
The CIJR is the public policy arm of YWAM (England),
established to explore ways in which YWAM could engage with issues of international
concern. The Centre has Special Consultative Status at the United Nations
(UN) for YWAM (England), and hopes to establish permanent teams at the UN
in New York and Geneva. The Centre focuses on three issues - trafficking
of children for the international sex trade, female genital cutting and the
implications of the UN International Criminal Court for aid workers and missionaries.
The CIJR is moving into training - including a Discipleship Training School
with a Justice emphasis, a second-level school called 'Whose Justice?
Approaches to engaging in-justice in a global arena' and a series of weekly evening
seminars.

Eteam (Evangelism Through Education And Mission) - Harpenden
This team works with young people and children. Eteam works primarily with
local schools (both primary and secondary), helping to run training forums,
take school RE and PSHE lessons, and develop and release discipleship resources.
This team also helps local youth groups to come together. The team is also
responsible for YWAM's contribution at Festival: Manchester.

Other Initiatives
Also, as part of our Marketplace ministry, YWAM England
is involved in two initiatives:
- First, we are a partner in
Fusion,
which is seeking to serve people in university to know God and make Him known
among students.
- Second, we are partnering
with A Call to
Business, an organisation
seeking to help people in the City to be disciples and make disciples in
the workplace.
